The cat has been napping for quite a long time. I could give you a huge long list of excuses, but the bottom line is that I did not make blogging a priority. New Year New Me and all that jazz has me realigning my life with my goals and ideals. And that means picking up blogging and making it a priority again.
To catch everyone up, in 2017 I bought a house, had a tree fall on said house, and am still dealing with the process of getting my house back to a pre-tree condition. My job has been very, very hectic with a multitude of changes going on, including the loss of several people who worked on my team. That lead to fewer people to do more work, which lead to a lot of overtime. The stress of it all kicked my depression into gear, which obviously didn’t help anything.
But all the craziness of 2017 has helped me focus on what I want for my life in 2018. I spent too much time fretting over things I had little control over. I wasted my energy on things that only made me unhappy or stressed. I let the negative control my life.
So, in 2018, I’m going to spend my energy on things that make me happy. I’m going to focus on the positive things and look for the silver lining. I’m going to spend my time on things I have direct control over. I’m going to use this year to get back on track for the goals I’ve neglected.
This starts with resuming this blog. I still plan on this being a craft blog. However, with my previous posting schedule of at least attempting to post multiple times a week, it was causing me more stress than enjoyment. I was making things just to write a post about it without actually caring about what I was making. So, I’m going to dial that schedule I thought was ideal back. Expect posts twice a month starting in February.
I really enjoy sharing my crafts with all of you. The comments you leave about how you’re going to try something for the first time or that you never thought to try something a certain way make me smile. The world needs more kindness and I plan on crafting it, here, for you.
It’s good to be back.
