It’s been a month in my new bullet journal for 2017. I thought I’d give a little update on what I’ve been trying out.
At the end of January, I did a memory page. I tried to make it a point throughout the month to note things on the days they happen to make it easier to go back and pull the fun, important things forward.
I’m also trying to be less structured with my pages. In my last bullet journal, I tried to pre-section everything. I didn’t even think to use an index, so keeping track of one-off pages was a pain. This year, since I’m using a Leuchtturm 1917, it comes with an index built in. This enables me to create pages to track things like what audio books I’ve listened to.
And this one month update wouldn’t be complete without me showing off my February monthly spread!
I saw this type of layout on Pinterest and loved it instantly. I use the little owl sticky note to keep track of what day it is. I love the way my “february” turned out. And the washi tape was well worth the buy (thanks, Michaels clearance!). Not super pumped on the quote lettering, but I tried writing with an actual brush pen instead of my usual Micron fake calligraphy. It’s a good way to see my hand-lettering progress throughout the year.
Overall, I am really digging the monthly spread and loving the memory page at the end of the month. I’m toying around with a “monthly brain dump” page, but not sure if it’s really working out. I had intentions of having a monthly review spread to touch base on my goals for the year, but completely forgot about including it for January.
Do you have any spread/page suggestions? Let me know in the comments!
