Since I was in a lovely tropical place for the beginning of October and Halloween is fast approaching, I felt the need to get into the October mood. I decided to start with something sweet – chocolate pumpkin pretzels. I got the idea on Pinterest, which lead me to this recipe, courtesy of Butter With A Side of Bread.
Super easy and simple way to get into the holiday spirit! While the original recipe used white chocolate chips and food coloring, I just grabbed some Wilton’s Candy Melts on sale at Michaels, mini pretzels, and bright green M&M’s. My local grocery store sells M&M’s by individual colors, but the original recipe states that you can just buy a regular bag and get what you need.
Heat the candy melts according to the instructions on the package, then dunk the pretzels in, get them good and covered, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Stick a green M&M in for the stem, let the candy melt harden and bada bing bada boom, you’ve got yourself some of the cutest Halloween treats around!
Yum! I’m bringing them into work to share with all my coworkers. I hope they like them as much as my family did!
